A young boy and his father learn about living in harmony with nature in this languid drama from filmmaker Pedro Gonzalez-Rubio. A man from Mexico (Jorge Machado) travels to Italy and falls in love with a beautiful local woman (Roberta Palombini). Their feelings for one another are strong, but they prove to be short lived, and when they decide to beak up after the birth of their son Natan, he returns to Mexico while she stays in Italy and takes primary custody of the child. However, the father strives to remain a presence in his son's life, and the boy visits his father at least once a year. As the five-year-old Natan travels to Mexico, his father has joined the family' fishing operation near the coral reefs of Banco Chinchorro. Living in an elevated cottage near the shore, Natan and his family devote their summer to an idyllic existence, spending their days catching the plentiful fish and observing the wildlife, and their nights sitting by the fire and admiring the stars. To the father, this simple life teaches an important lesson of existing in peace with the natural world, and Natan comes to see himself as being as much a part of this environment as the fish, the waterfowl and the seaweed. Alamar (aka To The Sea) was the first solo directorial credit for cinematographer Pedro Gonzalez-Rubio.

The family has moved to South Africa, not long after the end of the rigid white apartheid regime, which brutally oppressed the country’s black population. The children explore their new surroundings in amazement and are confronted again and again with traces of the dark past, in everyday encounters as well as trips around the country. Yet their new African friends are full of hope and confidence. “My African Diary” is the second in a “South African trilogy” by Jon Bang Carlsen. In “Addicted to Solitude” (1999) he examined racial segregation, while “Blinded Angels” (2006) dealt with issues of religious faith. His film “Purity Beats Everything” (2007), about the “Aryan” ideal of race and purity, was also set partially in South Africa.

 NO. Filmen er basert på sagnet om Jostedalsrypa. Den store pesten i Norge ble kalt svartedauen og herjet i Europa rundt 1350. Den rammet Norge svært hardt og to tredjedeler av befolkningen døde. En av de viktigste bærerne av håpet om en nasjonal gjenfødelse ble sagnet om en liten pike som overlevde. Sagnet om Jostedalsrypa. Ola Solum har også regissert filmene Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon og Reisen til julestjernen.
Alt begynner med fest og moro. I en liten dal ved Jostedalsbreen på Vestlandet feires det bryllup på gården. Det er folksomt rundt familien til Maren. Liv Bernhoft Osa spiller moren til Maren. Vi får tiltro til henne som mor for Maren med sin breie dialekt og trygge favn. Det blir brått kaotisk og svært dramatisk da pesten kommer. Alle skriker og løper rundt og ber for sitt eget liv og sine kjære. Imens andre elsker som om det skulle være deres siste time. Noen kler seg naken og ruller ned en gressskråning. Imens holder Maren til oppe i fjellene der hun er trygg.
Det er hjerteskjærende å se den vesle jenta som plutselig opplever død og fordervelse rundt seg. Til og med foreldre er døende syke av pest, så hun ikke kan ha noe med dem å gjøre mer. Hun får ikke den omsorgen hun trenger og må klare seg på egenhånd. Hun begynner å snakke med seg selv og bruker det som trøst og leker med dyrene som er hennes eneste selskap. Hun har mareritt om nettene og har det tøft om kveldene når mørket kommer. Maren har blitt instruert av sin mor at hun må holde liv i ilden som er mye av livsgrunnlaget og måten å holde varmen på vinteren med...

Die Geschichte dreht sich um das Mädchen Annemarie, das als jüngstes Kind der Arztfamilie Braun Nesthäkchen gerufen wird. Sie wächst mit ihren Brüdern Hans und Klaus in Berlin zur Kaiserzeit kurz vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg auf.
1. Annemarie Braun ist die Jüngste von drei Geschwistern. Als Nesthäkchen wird die Sechsjährige von der ganzen Familie sehr verwöhnt. Besonders hingezogen fühlt sie sich zu ihrem Kindermädchen Lena. Annemarie ist zwar störrisch, hat aber ein weiches Herz. Langsam wird sie selbständig und erlebt ihre ersten Abenteuer. Die Serie entstand nach dem Roman von Else Ury.
2. In der auf der gleichnamigen Romanreihe von Autorin Else Ury basierenden Serie werden typische Themen aus der Welt eines kleinen Mädchens auf sehr humorvolle und liebevolle Weise erzählt. Tolle Ausstattung und großartige Schauspieler tragen dazu bei, dass das „Nesthäkchen“ für das ZDF zum einem großen Erfolg wird und als Klassiker der 80er-Jahre in die deutsche Fernsehgeschichte eingeht.

 A man struggles to come to terms with a mystery that has haunted him throughout his adult life in this drama from Poland. In 1967, a 13-year-old boy named Dawid discovered a cache of explosives and began experimenting with them; one day, several of his friends saw Dawid wave to them shortly before a massive explosion went off near a railway tunnel, and no one ever saw the young man again. Thirty years later, one of Dawid's close friends, Pawel (Marek Kondrat), returns to Poland for the first time in 11 years to visit Juliane (Juliane Kohler), a woman he used to love. As Pawel returns home, he discovers his thoughts keeps drifting back to Dawid and what might have happened to him that day. Pawel keeps replaying the explosive incident in his mind, and goes so far as to track down Elka (Krystyna Janda), Dawid's girlfriend, who was with him moments before the explosion, though then as now she refuses to talk about what happened. Pawel is unable to determine for sure just what happened or how Dawid died -- or if he did in fact die at all. Weiser was nominated for the Golden Bear award at the 2001 Berlin Film Festival.

 In this teen romance, a young neglected English boy named Paul Harrison (Sean Bury) runs away and becomes friends with a French girl named Michelle La Tour (Anicee Alvina) on the same flight. Together, they go to an idyllic marsh location in France; specifically, the Camargue. There, they become lovers, set up housekeeping, have a baby, and play at being responsible adults. Along the way, both Paul and Michelle discover many of the troubles that can be involved with family life.
Ultimately, however, police who have responded to a missing-persons report separate the two and, presumably, take their baby into protective custody.
Friends is a 1971 teen-romance film directed and produced by Lewis Gilbert and written by Gilbert, Vernon Harris, and Jack Russell. The soundtrack, with music composed by Elton John and lyrics written by Bernie Taupin, was released as the Friends album, and John's recording of the title selection charted when released as a single in the United States. The film was nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best English-Language Foreign Film at the 1972 Golden Globe Awards. It was also nominated for Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture at the 1972 Grammy Awards.

Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp is a 1917 silent film fantasy directed by Chester and Sidney Franklin and produced and distributed by Fox Film Corporation.
It is preserved in the George Eastman House, Cinemateca Do Museu De Arte Moderna and the Library of Congress.
Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp was another of Fox's lavishly produced "Sunset Kiddies" series, wherein most of the principal roles were enacted by children. In this case, Aladdin is portrayed by juvenile performer Francis Carpenter, while other key roles were filled by such stars-in-the-making as Virginia Lee Corbin, Gertrude Messenger and Buddy Messenger and Lewis Sargent. The film was by no means a parody: the youthful performers played their parts with utmost sincerity, and most effectively. As was traditional in the "Sunset Kiddies" films, a few adult performers were scattered throughout the proceedings, notably Elmo Lincoln, the screen's first Tarzan, who here portrayed the towering Genie of the Lamp. Unfortunately, none of the "Sunset Kiddies" efforts is currently available for reappraisal.

Il s'agit du premier long métrage de la réalisatrice, basé sur son scénario de fin d'étude à la Fémis.
Pendant l'été de leurs quinze ans, trois adolescentes vivent difficilement l'éclosion de leur sexualité. Marie traîne souvent avec Anne qui est complexée sur son physique et espère être aimée de François, membre de l'équipe de water-polo. Au club de natation synchronisée, pendant qu'Anne entraîne les poussines, Marie observe avec une curiosité troublée Floriane, la capitaine de l'équipe minime.
En échange de l'entrée dans la piscine pendant les entraînements, Marie sert de chaperon à Floriane pour pouvoir voir François le soir. Cependant, malgré une réputation de fille facile, Floriane appréhende sa première fois et finit par s'en confier à Marie.

"A Cloud above paradise" is a presentation short feature film, which symbolizes eternal problems of human life. Its plot is developing on a background of the Chernobyl tragedy consequences. This movie received the prize for the best short film of 2000 (Moscow). "A Cloud above paradise" was nominated for the best short feature film award at international festivals: "The Canadian Festival", "The Festival of Short Cinema" in S.Petersburg and Moscow. It aslo was presented on TV in Germany, Canada and the US.

 NO. Toya er en norsk familiefilm fra 1956. Filmen var basert på Barnetimeboka som i 1955 ble produsert under ledelse av programlederen onkel Lauritz.
Halvparten av inntektene gikk til Flyktninghjelpen. Foruten å være innspilt i Tananger var filmen, som den første langfilm, innspilt i Stavanger. Til premieren ved Scala kino i Oslo ankom flyktningebarna i tog på Østbanestasjonen. Filmen ble svært populær og en gjenganger på kinoene.
Lille Toya blir foreldreløs i et europeisk land som er undertrykket av en fremmed makt. Hun kommer som flyktning til Norge og blir adoptert av en familie utenfor Stavanger. Men gleden over den nye tilværelsen varer ikke lenge. Toya blir urettmessig mistenkt for å ha stjålet penger. Hun rømmer fra sitt nye hjem for å prøve å løse vanskelighetene selv. Underveis treffer hun Trygve, en gutt på hennes egen alder. Han hjelper henne videre, og til slutt blir mysteriet med de forsvunne pengene løst.

Luuk is a truck driver who seems to be a goodhearted father for his eight-year-old daughter Isabel. After Luuk divorced from his wife Karen, Isabel lives with her mother. Whenever Luuk has the chance he takes Isabel to the sea or for a ride in his truck, which only carries sand. On one of those occasions Luuk discovers the horrific reason why Isabel is so quiet that day. From that moment on Luuk has to cope with a new and unexpected situation. Luuk kidnaps his daughter in an attempt to protect her, but he slowly loses control.
